Meet the Founder
Jim L. Buchanan Jr. is a boots-on-the-ground industrial leader with nearly four decades of experience in manufacturing, automation, and operational transformation. His journey began as a technician and evolved into senior roles that shaped enterprise-wide strategy, including as North American Regional Manager for Harsco Environmental. Along the way, Jim has led $140M capital builds, pioneered a 1,000-point condition-based monitoring system before the sensor market matured, and implemented predictive technologies that reshaped plant reliability and output. He holds an Executive MBA, a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, and certifications in Lean/CI Facilitation and AITF Systems Auditing.
As the founder of Synergy Industrial, Jim’s work is centered on integrating AI, lean systems, and smart technologies directly into the environments where real industrial work happens—from the plant floor to the job site. He’s built operational strategies for global enterprises, mid-market manufacturers, and early-stage ventures, always with a focus on results, safety, uptime, and team engagement. His portfolio also includes founding 3D Print Factory, a rapid prototyping firm, and collaborating with 3D Systems on medical-grade haptic technology used in surgical training. Whether it's automation, maintenance leadership, or world-class asset optimization, Jim’s leadership bridges the gap between ideas and execution.
